Writing a Series

There’s no rule that says a writer has to release a series in chronological order. There’s no rule that says a writer even has to write a series in chronological order. I did one, but not the other. By choice, I released Girls Gone Groupie first, but it was the third book I wrote! Gunning for Groupie Gold started off the Girls of Glam Rock idea for me, then I fell in love with the character of Em’rald, my smokin’ female rock star, and gave her Live Vicariously Through Me as her book. I wrote the two books at once, then later wrote Girls Gone Groupie. Honestly, I don’t suggest that anyone do things this way! So many things didn’t fit, and it was a huge struggle to make the books work together and make sense. Writing books is hard enough without having to pour over notes and calendars and go through computer files to search keywords and match up information. From now on, I’m writing in chronological order. I’ve learned my lesson!

Currently, I’m creating the fourth book in the Girls of Glam Rock Series, Shine on You Crazy Saffire, and I have ideas for the two books to follow. I’d like to write at least ten books in the series. Even more if they become popular!

All four of my books are available on my BOOKS page. Aren’t they pretty?

Brenda K. Stone is the pen name for Barb Lee, a native of Western Massachusetts who loves to write, travel the world, hike the world, and go to rock concerts. When not engaging in these particular adventures or the several other activities she enjoys that leave her no time for rest, you can find her “doing research” with her nose in a rock and roll biography and her black bunny Gert not far away, probably sleeping.
